History of FBCP

Brief History of FBCP

Brethren Movement was started in Pakistan from Karachi through Brother Bakhet Singh in 1930s. He travelled around the country and preached the good news which results the establishment of Church. Following are some highlights of the development of Brethren churches in Pakistan.

-1930s: Brother Bakhet Singh started evangelistic work among poor sweepers in Karachi and in this way house churches have been started.

Bro. Bakhet Singh went to Quetta in 1935 and shared the good news there and a house church was started there too.

-In 1937 he came to Martinpur and spread the good news among them and in results a house church started there.

-1990s: Missionaries and local people got involved more in church planting and in result more churches were established. Robert Orr Centre was constructed in Multan to serve as Church building as well as place for other church related activities; camps, seminars, rallies etc.

-2000s: Mr. Yunis Laal Din was elected as Chairman of the Advisory Counsel of Pakistan. This counsel was registered with the government of Pakistan in the name of, “Fellowship of Brethren Churches of Pakistan Trust” which helped churches to be more organized.

-2003: A survey was made in 2003 and found that there are 95 churches (home and with building) established in all over the country.

By 2003 FBCP Trust started paying for the full time Pastors for the first time in history. We had 95 Brethren Assemblies and 205 Outreach points.

-2004: The DEED OF DECLARATION OF TRUST was made on 8th day of November 2004

Many more churches and evangelistic points were established as the result of more evangelism in different villages and cities.

The organization “Fellowship of Brethren Churches of Pakistan Trust was registered with Govt. of Pakistan under joint stock companies under societies Act, 1860 in November 2004, having registration No.D8552BIV1834, and Mr. Peter Laal Din was appointed as Managing Director of the organization to manage the operations of the organization under the supervision of Board of Directors. The Board of Directors started meeting regularly according to the given schedule and started approving the policies, budgets, other operational matters, directing, controlling and executing the organization. They finalized some thematic areas to define specified track for the organization to function accordingly.

A leader must focus over delivering positive outputs in the organization. A leader must motivate his/ her team members to support the team members to deliver good ideas & improvements. By God’s grace FBCP is blessed with great leadership.
